Need financial Assistance ASAP

By help62 - on Feb 4, 2010

Sorry if this is a duplicate.  Due to hospital bills for unexpected emergencies, 2 kids, loss of job...I find myself in an unexpected place.  I currently owe $8000, but don't have anywhere to turn.  No family left.  I think of the years I helped people out.  I don't have any way to guarantee the repayment of this money.  But if you are in a place to help someone out, know that my entire family will be eternally greatful.  I'm really reaching the end of my rope.  Suicide has entered my mind seriously, and that scares me.  I feel like there is no one to turn to, no where to go.  I hope this is temporary but with the economy, I am in despair.  If you have the ability to help us out, God Bless You.

Comment on: Grants, are they real or just a ploy to purchase cd's that you have to find the grant or foundation that a person needs.

Margie61, I don't have any foundations in mind...but I can tell you that those grant things are ALL scams.  Grants and foundation money are given to non profits, research, and business programs that aid others.  Check with your church, AARP, VETs, and other groups that may have but not advertise different types of aid.  My daughter was born with crossed eyes.  We had no insurance.  The doctor told us that the Lions Club take on the charity that deals with eyesight, glasses, etc.  We wrote a letter, presented it to the Lion's Club, interviewed with them, and our daughter recieved her operation!  It is worth digging a little, Good Luck.

I had my controller position "eliminated" 3 weeks ago. I am looking like mad for a new job, I have never been out of work and this is so wierd for me!

I guess I could be angry at the callous way (no notice, tiny severence) I was treated, but mostly I just feel strange about it.

I honestly believe there is something good for me right around the corner, I would just like for it to get here before I am unable to make the mortgage payments! Running out of cash here and the Unemployment is not enough to survive on. Sigh...

Kids in need of help with x-mess

By my little angels - on Nov 30, 2006

We are looking for help for out 2 kids for Christmas. Our daughter is 2 and our son is 11 months. My wife found out she was pregnant and 2 days later was released from her job. Due to the stress of the circumsyances she had a miscarriage shortly after. Now she is unable to work which makes Christmas very hard. As for myself, the restuarant I work in was sold and we were informed that we are going to have a 6 week lay off starting today. I am going to try and find temporary work but it will take time. Now the bills keep rolling in but the money is not. With all the heartache me and my wife have endured lately it would kill us not to give our kids a christmas. With us both losing our jobs this late in the year there are no christmas programs that can help us, since they have already closed their sign ups. If there is anyway you can help us provide our angels with christmas it would mean the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read this. God Bless.

Grants, are they real or just a ploy to purchase cd's that you have to find the grant or foundation that a person needs.

I have been receiving e-mails of record proportions all stating that government grants are avaibe.  I've purchsed material as high as 500.00 and as low as 19.95  I am thoughly confused as to what grant or foundation that may help me.  I have written many letters to apply and always the same results.......no responce.  I'm starting to feel that this may be a scam to milk money from desperate people like me.  I've begged, pleaded, asked, and practically got on my hands and knees to pray.

Is there a worker I can talk to?  I am starting to wonder if these are all scams.  It's been over 2 years, I even tried to apply for emergency funding to save my home.  I just got out of a repay agreement which I had to pay a tremendous amont of late fees.  My husband lost his job in Jan and lost all medical benefits.  I am unable to work because of a degenerated spine.  we are in a bad situation and if we don't get some kind of financial grant, we will be homeless.  We realize we have to sell our beloved home which we had worked so very hard to achieve.  I spent 8 yearsnursing an invalid father-in-law who moved in with us to make things easier for me.  He was a very good person, but after his 2nd heart attack, and 4rd stroke, he became dead weight and when my husband was at work, I was the only one to help him and that took a toll on my health.

We are soclose to retirement that if we could have kept his job for 1 and a half years, we would not have problems.  Because my husband was contracred from Bartech and worked in the GM facility.  When he was laid off, there was no severance, and no insurance.  We started dipping into our assets 5 years ago when he took a 27 percent pay cut.  No cost of living, no bonuses, not even turkey for Thanksgiving and Ham for Christmas.  We are desperate.  Please send me a phone number of someone who is in charge of grants that deal with hardship.  We need 2 more years to retire and sell our home and downsize.  We do not have a problem with downsizing, but if we go into forclosure we lose the eqity that will make this possible.

Sincerely Margaret Splatt. Please let me hear from you soon.  time is not on my side any longer.

In need of immediate help

By Margie61 - on Aug 6, 2006

I was born in Sicily in 1945 the youngest of 4 children.  My father brought us all to America in 1947.  I raised in a very ethnic home.  My marriage was prearranged in 1965.  We had 3 children and a life of dosmetic violence.  Being a good catholic Italian, I hung in there until he started to abuse the children,  Under threats of murder, setting fire to the house and killing us all, I finally decided my children would not be raised in a violent home.  I gather the courage with the help of my father, who was appalled that I had been through this and never spoke of it.  I met and married my present husband in 1974.  Not only did he marry me, but he became the only father my children knew.  My ex fled the country returning back to Italy to avoid paying child support.  Ken and I had one more child and have raised them, educated them, and paid for their weddings.  They have given me 8 beautiful grandchildren.

After 41 years of working, my husband, a contract worker for Bartech, working for GM as a senior designer received a paycut 5 years ago.  We had to start dipping into our savings, insurances, 401, stocks and any other assets we had.  Then came the dreaded day when GM laid off over 30,000 workers, my husband being one because he was contract not direct.  The directs got it 2 weeks later.  We were just in shock because we had already dipped into our reserve.  Now the unemployment has run out, and there is absolutely no income coming into the home.  We will be in forclosure, just after we finished our repay agreement because we had already gone through this once before and it has drained us.  We are 61 years old.  If we can just keep our home for other year, we can be eliigable that reverse mortgage.  If we lose this home to forclousre we will not have the eqity needed to buy a smaller home which we are both resigned to do.  Please let us hang on for another year and a half.

need to save my home and care for a disabled spouse

By hopeful1 - on Oct 22, 2005
Posted in hopeful1

I am a 41 year old wife and mom and I recently lost my job.....I have a disabled spouse and he has been in need of more care than normal as his symptoms are increasing and I was fired from my job as a result of that care.  We are now facing possible foreclosure on our home and I am desperately seeking assistance to save it!!  We need to find the right people to talk to about my being hired as his continued caretaker.  I have been his primary caretaker for many years now and he has complete trust in me.  He does not need skilled nursing of any kind at this point and I do not think he would allow a stranger in the home at this point.  We also have 4 boys still at home which are in need of the stability of both parents at home and not a stranger in there home.  I have worked hard for this family by holding down full time employment, continuing college(which has been set aside for this term), and keeping this family afloat as best I can.  Now it has come to the point to where I need help and don't know where to turn?...
